Plan ahead for traffic and parking if you want to stop and take photos.  The local Burlington Chamber of Commerce will provide you with maps for parking and pull-off spots along your tour. 

Explore La Conner

This charming waterfront town is a must-visit if you're in the Skagit Valley area. The town is filled with art galleries, boutiques, and some fabulous restaurants! Take a stroll along the boardwalk and enjoy the stunning views of the Swinomish Channel. Stop by  MoNa (Museum of Northwest Arts) to view spectaular artwork by locals and shop the gift store full of local works and treasures to take home.

Hiking at Mount Baker

Skagit Valley is located in the shadows of Mount Baker, which offers year-round outdoor activities such as skiing, snowboarding, and hiking. The trail to Chain Lakes is a favorite among hikers, offering excellent views of the surrounding glaciers and mountain peaks. Just down the road is Rasar Park, a great destination for walk with the dogs as well as access to the river.  There's a park for the kids to play and public restrooms as well as camping for both tents and RVs.

Bird Watching at Skagit Valley Wildlife Preserve

Skagit Valley is home to a diverse range of birds that flock to the region during migration season. The Skagit Wildlife Preserve offers ample opportunities for bird watching, with over 200 bird species spotted in the area. Often times, you will see flocks of snowgeese in September in the open flats of Skagit Valley.
